Bushnell Legend Series (E, L & M)

Bushnell Legend’s have been a long favorite of mine. Great price, excellent quality and the legendary Bushnell brand has made the original Legend a highly recommended product by myself and the rest of the team. I personally feel that when the legend was released about 5 years ago, it created a new class of binoculars. Low Dispersion (ED) Glass, great build quality bundled with a range of useful accessories at a very competitive price.

Many years and models have passed since Bushnell released the category changing Legends with other brands catching up and releasing products in the same segment. Earlier this year, Bushnell announced that they have updated the Legend series. Ensuring it maintains its competitiveness in the category, they have diversified and split the range into 3 distinct models.

The Bushnell Legend E Series 8×42 & 10×42 (Entry Level)  -

The entry level E Series comes in an 8×42 and 10×42 version is built off what made the original Bushnell Legend HD’s a success. Great fully multi-coated optics, the Bushnell’s own signature HD Rainguard housed in a solid waterproof and fogproof body.

What I like is that while these are the entry level series, The build quality is still rock solid and the binoculars come with must have features of any binoculars. A simply, accurate diopter adjustment, smooth and accurate focus wheel and twist up eyecups.

All the usual accessories are included (Neck Strap, Lens Covers, Carrying Case and Cleaning Cloth)

The Bushnell Legend L Series 8×42 & 10×42 (Mid Range)  -

198842 VerticalThe Bushnell Legend L Series builds off the E series with everything included in the E Series packed with even more features. Bushnell have said that the L series would be closest to the outgoing Bushnell Legend HD’s with very similar features.

Building up from the fully multi coated optics in the E Series, the L gains an Ultra Wide Band Coating which provides clarity, colour in different lighting scenarios. The biggest step up ED Prime glass to reduce chromatic abberation. This significantly reduces the purple tint effect to provide more accurate visions and a distortion free image.

The build quality feels like a step up over the L Series with better quality focus wheel mechanisms and twist up eyecups.

The easiest way to distinguish the L series from the rest is the presence of the red ring around the diopter adjustments.
